Botox
Botox has become a very popular solution for treating facial lines and folds and it offers a very simple and convenient process and impressive results without the need for recovery time. Botox is a purified form of botulinum toxin type A, which is injected into problem areas of the skin to target lines and smooth the skin. It achieves this goal by preventing muscle contraction in the facial muscles by blocking nerve signals. Once the muscles relax, this causes lines to soften, making them less visible. Popular areas for Botox treatment include the forehead, around the eyes and between the nose and mouth.
Dermal fillers
Dermal fillers are another popular solution for facial lines, but they are also an effective treatment for people who have experienced loss of fullness in the skin and sagging. Fillers can help to combat loss of collagen, the fibre that gives the skin its structure and firmness and create a more youthful, radiant look. Fillers can also add definition to the face and enhance the features to create a beautiful aesthetic. We can use fillers to bring out the cheekbones and jaw line and to add volume to the lips. Like Botox, fillers are injected into the skin in targeted areas. Treatment only takes around 20-30 minutes and the results appear a few days after treatment.
Both Botox and fillers produce temporary effects that last around 6-9 months.
