Crack the Code to a Perfect Smile with Liverpool’s Da Vinci Veneers

Friday, August 8th, 2014

Da Vinci veneers are one of the world’s leading and best-known veneer treatments and have featured on many makeover shows on the television. Made famous by Hollywood stars, Da Vinci veneers are available right here in the heart of Liverpool. You don’t need to be an Oscar winner to show off a fabulous smile!

What are Da Vinci veneers?

If you want to inject a bit of glamour into your smile, Da Vinci veneers could be the perfect treatment to make your teeth sparkle. These veneers are delicate, tooth-shaped sheets of laminate porcelain that are attached to the natural teeth in order to create a beautiful, flawless, natural-looking smile. Veneers are most commonly used for aesthetic purposes such as brightening discoloured teeth, repairing chipped teeth and filling in gaps between teeth. They can also be used to correct worn tooth surfaces.

Why should I choose Da Vinci veneers?

Da Vinci veneers are famous for their beautiful, stylish aesthetics and strong durability. Da Vinci veneers will make your smile look stunning, giving them a natural-looking sparkle. These veneers are more resistant to discolouration and staining than other veneer types.

Da Vinci veneers are created using the very best technology, latest techniques and highest quality materials at California’s Da Vinci laboratory. Each veneer is crafted and fitted individually.

What does the treatment procedure involve?

Before treatment commences, we will examine your teeth and discuss with you your expectations to make sure that Da Vinci veneers are the right treatment for you. We will then chat to you about shades and work out together how to prepare your perfect smile.

Before the veneers can be created in America, we’ll need to prepare your teeth. This means removing a very thin layer of enamel, creating space for the new veneers. We will take pictures and impressions of your teeth to send out to the lab, where your veneers will be created.

When the veneers are ready, they can be fitted and you’ll be ready to show off a gorgeous new smile!

Dealing With Damaged Teeth In Central Liverpool

Sunday, June 15th, 2014

Your teeth are made from sturdy stuff, but general wear and tear, injuries and accidents can take their toll and there is a risk of them becoming damaged and broken. If you have a broken tooth, there are various options available to you. These include: restorative treatments (such as crowning or dental implants), cosmetic treatments (such as veneers), or a simple and quick procedure known as cosmetic bonding.

What is cosmetic bonding?

Cosmetic bonding is often referred to as composite bonding and it is a procedure used to carry out minor repairs to the teeth. This procedure involves using dental composite, which is also used to fill cavities, to patch up and build up the teeth to create a beautiful smile.

Bonding is a really effective treatment for patients who have chipped and worn teeth, as well as those who have unsightly gaps between their teeth, and it is a much cheaper and less invasive solution than veneers. The changes made to individual teeth appear to be very minor, but when you look in the mirror you will be amazed at the difference they make to the overall appearance of your smile.

The bonding process

The procedure involves using dental composite to build up worn edges, smooth rough surfaces, reduce the size of the gap between two teeth and repair chipped teeth. Your dentist will shape the composite while it is still in a soft form and then set it hard using a curing light. This painless procedure doesn’t take long, and the results are staggering.

Typically, the procedure takes less than an hour and no anaesthetic is required. The results are visible straightaway, there is no recovery time and your teeth will be stronger, as well as looking healthier. Composite can be matched to the closest shade to your natural teeth, so that the ‘new’ part of the tooth cannot be distinguished from the rest of the tooth.

Treating Broken Teeth In Central Liverpool

Your teeth carry out a number of important actions every day and occasionally, they can suffer from wear and tear. If you have a chipped tooth, you may be thinking about restorative or cosmetic treatment and we highly recommend cosmetic bonding.

What is cosmetic bonding?

Cosmetic bonding is also known as composite bonding and it is a procedure used to strengthen damaged teeth and enhance the aesthetic of the smile. Dental composite is matched to the colour of your natural teeth and it can be moulded into shape when in putty form, which means that it is a very versatile treatment. Your dentist can use composite to improve the shape of a tooth, repair chipped teeth, build up a worn tooth surface and even make a gap between two teeth smaller. Once the putty-like composite has been shaped, it is then hardened to make the tooth stronger.

The procedure

Before the procedure, your dentist will explain what is going to happen and then shape the composite to address your concerns; this may involve filling in a chipped tooth or placing the composite between two teeth, for example. The composite is closely matched to the shade of your teeth and it has a range of uses.

Once your dentist is happy with the placement and shape of the composite, they will shine a curing light onto the material to set it hard. Once the composite is hard, it is very strong and should last for a long time. Your dentist will then give your tooth a polish and you can see your amazing new smile.

What are the advantages of cosmetic bonding?

The changes made by this procedure are usually fairly minor, but the impact on the look of the smile is really impressive. Even a small chip can make you feel self-conscious when you smile and this treatment can really work wonders to make sure that you feel confident when you smile. The actual procedure usually takes less than an hour, it’s painless and you will be able to notice the results straightaway. This treatment is also a much more affordable option than veneers and other types of restorative treatment.

Improve Your Smile With Our Durable Yet Delicate Da Vinci Veneer Treatment In Liverpool

Thursday, February 6th, 2014

With a skill and craftsmanship that lives up to its artistic namesake, Da Vinci veneers have become one of America’s most trusted brands and have even featured on ABC’s program Extreme Makeover. These veneers will also blend in with your teeth for a natural bright smile.

What are dental veneers, generally?

Before we get to subtle variants, let’s explain the basic concept: Dental veneers are very thin layers of material which are applied to your teeth so as to give the impression of a perfect, uniform smile. A common analogy in the dental industry is to like veneers to false nails (except veneers are for your teeth).

What can veneers be used to treat?

Well, they pretty much cover up your natural teeth, so, in a sense, anything that can be concealed: Stains, chips, discoloration and gaps, all of these problems can be treated with veneers. In fact, the only thing they aren’t best suited for is orthodontic treatment and, in some cases, they can even be used there: In a process nicknamed ‘instant orthodontics,’ minor misalignments can be covered up just like all the other problems previously mentioned.

What is so special about Da Vinci veneers?

Well, the Da Vinci labs in California claim that: their veneers are thinner than normal ones, are highly resistant to permanent staining, have a more natural look than your standard veneer and, during the initial treatment, don’t even require an anaesthetic when being placed.

Getting them fitted

Following an initial consultation, during which you may be shown a digital preview of yourself with said veneers fitted, an appointment will be booked so you can be prepped for treatment. So as to accommodate your veneers, your teeth will be buffed so as to remove 0.5 millimetres of tooth surface. An impression of your teeth will then be taken and sent to the Da Vinci lab in California. It takes roughly two weeks for your veneers to arrive and, during that wait, you will be fitted with temporary veneers. Once they arrive, your dentist will double check their colour and fit, and, if you are satisfied, will then cement them in to place! At this stage, their colour can still be adjusted, so speak up if you aren’t happy!

Sort Out Your Gum Line With Our Innovative Treatment For Patients In Liverpool

Thursday, October 3rd, 2013

A smile makeover often doesn’t just involve the appearance of your teeth. For some people the main problem with their smile may involve their gums and how they affect the overall look of their teeth and mouth. One such aesthetic gum problem may involve a ‘gummy smile’, which occurs when the gum line is low down on the teeth, meaning more gum than teeth show when you smile, making your teeth look smaller. However, there are now treatments available for those who dislike the appearance of their ‘gummy smiles’.

Treatment for ‘gummy smiles’

Gum contouring is the easiest and most effective treatment for smiles with low gum lines. The procedure involves cutting away the excess gum that sits low down on your teeth. This tissue is cut away either with a sharp scalpel, which requires a small amount of post treatment, or cut away with a laser, which provides a clean cut and much shorter healing times. Once your gums have healed your smile will have a better gum to teeth ration and no marks will remain of the treatment.

Small teeth and cosmetic treatments

Another reason for small looking teeth could be the teeth themselves. If your teeth are a little short due to accident or tooth erosion cosmetic treatments such as veneers or composite bonding can be added to the teeth to length them and improve their overall appearance.

If you would like more information on aesthetic treatments to shorten gums or lengthen teeth please feel free to visit the practice today in central Liverpool. We would be happy to discuss your needs and what you would like from your smile.

Get A Dazzling Smile With Veneers In The City Of Liverpool

Friday, September 13th, 2013

If you are looking for veneers in Liverpool, let us introduce you to the amazing Lumineers veneers. Lumineers are made from patented materials and they are only available at selected practices in the UK.

What are Lumineers and what is so special about them?

Lumineers are very thin veneers, which are made from patented Cerinate material. Cerinate is a pressed form of porcelain, which produces amazingly natural aesthetics, as well as being extremely durable.

Lumineers are a very impressive veneer treatment; they have a beautiful glossy sheen and create truly amazing smiles and they should last for up to 20 years, making them a worthwhile investment.

Another advantage of Lumineers is that they are very thin, which means that minimal preparation is required and the tooth enamel can remain intact; in many cases, the teeth need to prepared and etched before veneers are placed to make room for the new veneer and this can damage to tooth structure. Lumineers are around the same thickness as contact lenses and they can be placed over the top of the natural teeth without causing any interference at all. Treatment only requires two sessions; the first session is to make the impressions for the new veneers and the second visit is to place the veneers; then you are free to show off your amazing new smile!

Could I benefit from veneer treatment?

Veneers are a very popular treatment because they can transform any smile. if you are unhappy with your smile, you wish you had a bright, healthy looking smile or you hate looking in the mirror and being confronted with rows of chipped and worn teeth, veneers could be an ideal treatment for you. Lumineers can be used to address problems such as discolouration and staining, chipped and broken teeth, worn teeth and spaces between the teeth and they may also be an option for patients who have very minor problems with the alignment of their teeth who don’t want to have orthodontic treatment.

How Patients In Liverpool Can Treat A Gummy Smile

Friday, January 4th, 2013

Grab a mirror and have a look at your smile. Do your teeth seem small in comparison to your gums? Are you embarrassed when you smile because you think it’s displaying too much gum tissue? If you answer yes to either of these questions, you might have a gummy smile. You may already know that you have a gummy smile and this has been negatively affecting your confidence for some time. However, what you might not be aware of is how easy this problem can be rectified.

At Liverpool Implant & Aesthetic Dental Spa in the city of Liverpool, we can correct your gummy smile through the use of gum contouring or tooth reshaping. But, before we discuss how we can solve your problem and improve your confidence, let’s explain why this issue might be present in the first place.

What causes a gummy smile?

There are a variety of factors which can cause a gummy smile, one example of which is abnormal tooth eruption. Gummy smiles also occur as a result of hyperactivity in the muscle that controls the upper lip, leading to more of the upper gums being displayed. It is often possible to determine why you have a gummy smile based on dental history. For instance, if you have a gummy smile because of abnormal tooth eruption, you are likely to have other dental issues such as a misaligned bite.

No matter the reason for you gummy smile, we can treat it in one of two ways:

  1. Gum Contouring: Remove excess tissue from the gum line and lengthen the appearance of your teeth. This method works if your gum line hangs low over your teeth.
  2. Tooth Reshaping: If you feel one or more teeth are uneven along the biting edge, we can reshape it to improve the appearance of your smile and eradicate the unwanted gummy appearance.

While gummy smiles are common you don’t have to live with yours any longer. Get in touch today to set up a consultation and take a step to reclaiming your smile.

Look at them move! An update about my ‘Invisaligned’ teeth

Monday, November 26th, 2012

I sometimes find it hard to believe that I started Invisalign treatment nearly a month ago! The aligners have been really comfortable to wear and I must admit, some days I even forget that I’m wearing them. I really can’t thank my dentist enough for all of his help and advice about this treatment.

There have been occasions when I’ve had to stop myself from sipping on a really hot drink as I’ve had to remind myself that my Invisalign aligners are in. It’s so easily done! I’ve been wearing this second set for roughly 11 days now and whilst I haven’t noticed any changes from last week, I have noticed that the overall alignment of my teeth is looking a little straighter. When I go to close my mouth for example, my top teeth seem to be more in line with the bottom set.

Let’s compare from before I started: It’s probably quite difficult to tell any changes from the two pictures, but that is the kind of progress I am seeing so far.

Another thing I have noticed is that when I took them off at lunch one day this week, my jaw felt rather odd. I’ve had problems in the past with a clicking jaw, but this time it felt like my jaw was slightly at an angle and I wondered if the Invisalign had caused this or was repositioning the jaw in some way.

I have heard stories of Invisalign repositioning people’s jaw and that this can happen due to the aligners not allowing teeth to touch, as teeth naturally guide the jaw into position. So perhaps this is what I was experiencing. If I notice any further signs of this, I will be sure to inform my dentist.

I’ve had no problems with asking for any dental advice. I go to the Liverpool Dental Spa for my Invisalign treatment and their expertise truly marks them out as forerunners in the field of cosmetic dentistry. If I have any questions or problems Marius and the rest of the LDS team are always there to provide thorough answers and talk me through a number of possible solutions.

I’m so excited, soon I start on my third set of trays, so I’ll be sure to keep you posted!

~Anna
